What makes us different - MultiCare Clinic Ground Rounds

The physicians and therapists of the MultiCare Clinic practice the most advanced form of integrative healthcare for the treatment of many conditions.

Our system combines several different treatment methodologies using an evidence based medical model. The system employs our unique clinical algorithm designed to produce relief of symptoms and/or maximal correction of a patient's condition in the shortest period of time.  It is a system which has come out of years of clinical experience and as a result of treating many different types of conditions, using a variety of different techniques, oftentimes used simultaneously.

When a patient is seen in a "single modality" practice, the assessment can only occur through one "filter." That is, the filter in which the doctor or therapist has been trained. In contrast, The MultiCare Clinic's practitioners have a variety of integrative medicine "filters" through which we can assess a patients condition. This is fundamentally different than most clinics in our community.

Some offices may profess to have a "variety" of services, however, simply offering different services is not the same as integration of services. We do not simply offer a group of treatments that could be used one at a time, but rather we offer a coordinated service covering several different treatment modalities used in a specific sequence. Moreover, as mentioned above, our evidence based medical model is outcomes driven (must produce a desirable result). In other words if the treatment does not produce the desired result, then the services are modified, or the patient is referred to another doctor or specialist. Simply stated the days of treating patients forever is simply not part of our treatment protocol. In a world of integrative healthcare services there are a multitude of treatment options available, and we do not feel it is appropriate to have patients treat over-and-over without a favorable response to our intervention, fostering a "therapy habit."

MultiCare Clinic Grand Rounds

As part of our unique approach, each and every patient will have the opportunity to participate in the MultiCare Clinic Grand Rounds. Patients frequently present to our facility seeking relief of a particular condition or group of conditions. Many times a patient may be seeking a specific type of therapy for a specific condition. By allowing patients to participate in our Grand Rounds approach they will be exposed to all treatment options available to them at MultiCare. This allows the patient to become educated about all of their treatment choices, and other possible options. The Grand Rounds for each case typically occurs within the first or second week of care. During this visit all relevant providers are assembled to discuss and review with the patient's progress, and recommendations for additional care can be made if deemed appropriate.

A Few Words From The AMA On Alternative Medicine

George D. Lundberg, former editor of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), and Phil B. Fontanarosa, Senior Editor of JAMA, state that,

"There is no alternative medicine. There is only scientifically proven, evidence-based medicine supported by solid data or unproven medicine, for which scientific evidence is lacking. Whether a therapeutic practice is 'Eastern' or 'Western,' is unconventional or mainstream, or involves mind-body techniques or molecular genetics is largely irrelevant except for historical purposes and cultural interest.  As believers in science and evidence, we must focus on fundamental issues-namely, the patient, the target disease or condition, the proposed or practiced treatment, and the need for convincing data on safety and the therapeutic efficacy."
